Fresh look for St Helen's Farm

St Helen's Farm, the UKšs leading goat's milk manufacturer, has celebrated its 20th year of business by revealing its new look to retailers which includes significant product changes across its leading lines. The range comprising goats milk, cheese, butter, yogurts and cream have all undergone an overhaul. The relaunch emphasises the naturalness and provenance of its products that are made fresh each day on their farm in the Vale of York.

The imminent relaunch includes significant changes to the fast-growing yogurt range. The traditional foil top packaging has made way for larger, re-closable pots and the introduction of new flavours, Wildflower Honey & Strawberry and Vanilla.

Pack sizes will be increased, from 360g to 450g for the best-selling natural yogurt, which will also continue to be available in 125g. The change will see a move from 125g to 300g for the flavoured variants. This is in direct response to demand for larger packs as both consumption levels and weight of purchase increase.

Demand for St. Helen's Farm goats milk products is growing rapidly as record numbers of consumers opt for natural alternatives to traditional dairy products. Sales of St. Helen's Farm yogurts rose by 28 per cent last year, at least five times faster than the total category.

St. Helen's Farm Marketing Manager Mike Hind attributes the growth to consumer determination to find healthy dairy alternatives, in part due to rising levels of food intolerance."The increased consumer focus on healthy living has certainly contributed to the record levels of growth for the range," he says.

"
The challenge facing retailers is to meet the sustained rise in demand by more effective in-store merchandising. Our research confirms that many consumers who can't find goats milk products, and in particular those who are following a special diet, will shop elsewhere if their preferred choice is not available."

St. Helen's Farm is backing its new look range with a nationwide 'Thank Goodness For Goats' campaign targeting national and regional media, complemented by on-pack promotions and national advertising support.
