New Tizer on shelf for spring

Barr Soft Drinks is relaunching its classic soft drink Tizer for Spring with a major marketing campaign.
The soft drink has returned to a recipe closer than ever before to the original version, first sold in 1924, and it will now be made with 10 per cent fruit juice. New packaging, building on the 1980's design, will highlight this message and also promote the fact Tizer now contains no artificial colours, flavourings or sweeteners. Red fruit has also been added to give Tizer its characteristic colour but in a natural way.
Tizer brand manager Steven Downham said: "Tizer offers a unique taste thanks to a mouth-watering mix of citrus and red fruits - it's something different and original, and we'll be aiming this message at our target audiences of both teenagers and core shoppers.
"We're aware of parents' needs today and understand that they are looking for a simpler kind of soft drink. We've gone back to the roots of what Tizer is all about and believe this will encourage purchase by parents."
To support the launch there will be a massive £1 million investment for 2007 comprising national advertising and sampling across the UK targeting more than one million consumers.
The new look, new great-tasting Tizer is on-shelf now. Tizer will be in 330ml cans, 500ml PET bottles and two litre bottles.
POS will include door signs, chiller stickers, shelf wobblers and C&C aisle stoppers.
