Egg Packaging Enterprises recognised for outstanding performance by Domino

At the recent British Free Range Egg Producers Conference (BFREPA), Domino UK Ltd presented Egg Packaging Enterprises (EPE) with an award for 'Outstanding Performance as a Distributor in 2007'. For the past ten years the two companies have enjoyed a highly successful partnership whereby EPE supplies Domino printers, after sales services and consumables to small and medium sized egg companies around the UK, while Domino supplies direct to the larger players.

Coding an estimated 95% of the UK's eggs, Domino's ink jet printing technology makes the management of coding and marking simple, reliable and cost effective. Maximum productivity is ensured, with minimal operator intervention. The complete start up and shut down process is controlled by one button, while the unique ink system design, using large internal reservoirs and a nozzle seal, allows the A-Series to have truly automatic print head cleaning, eliminating the aggravation of repeated manual cleaning and unscheduled servicing.

The flexible Domino A-Series range delivers proven, high quality variable data print capabilities without compromising existing egg production lines. Whether running continuously or being shut down daily, the modular design and heated head technology ensure that code quality remains constant from the start of production until the line is shut down. The lightweight print head can be installed on virtually any production line, and its flexible configuration allows easy removal and repositioning of the head for precise and efficient job set up.

The A-Series is available with a range of inks, including one specifically developed for egg coding that meets customer requirements for fast drying, high adhesion, boil resistance and low odour.

EPE distributes three printers from the A-Series range - the A100, A200 and A200 egg coder. Producing two lines of print plus a logo, the A100 is suitable for small egg graders which produce up to 40 cases per hour, while the A200 is capable of printing four lines plus logo. In addition to this the A200 egg coder can be integrated directly to Staalkat, Moba and Diamond egg graders.

EPE offers a complete service covering all grading and printing needs for the egg industry, which needs to satisfy a legal requirement to code all commercially sold eggs. Operating in the UK and Europe the company includes sales, installation, repairs and parts for ink jet printers, egg graders, conveyors and box sealing in its portfolio of products and services.

Due to changing legislation over the past few years, farms with lower production numbers who serve the free range or organic markets now also fall within the threshold of those required to code their eggs. EPE is, therefore, ensuring that it is fully equipped to cater for the needs of this market.

"As a long standing family business we have seen numerous changes in egg production methods, and I predict many more over the next few years. With increasing legislation, producers are becoming more aware of the benefit of investing in reliable, quality printing equipment which has led to us breaking all previous records in sales of Domino printers this year," says Steve Corden, Managing Director of EPE. "We only supply the highest quality equipment so Domino, being the biggest name in printing and known as the supplier of choice for the major players in the egg industry, was our natural choice."

Simon Cox, General Manager of Domino UK Ltd, says, "The BFREPA provides us with the perfect opportunity to recognise EPE's accomplishment over the past year, during which they have achieved record machine and aftermarket sales. They have worked as a Domino distributor for around ten years and proved an ideal partner, so we are delighted to be able to acknowledge this achievement through the award for outstanding performance."
