Works With Water wins top industry recognition

Nutraceuticals company Works With Water has beaten off stiff competition to win a top award in this year's Food Processing Awards.

The company, which produces a range of naturally flavoured spring waters with clinically proven health benefits, won the Aim award for Ingredients, Manufacture and Use for its 120/80 spring water.

The award recognises the best new ingredient or most innovative use of an ingredient in a final product. Works With Water was commended for the water it developed in conjunction with DKSH.

120/80 is the first spring water to contain dairy peptides which are derived from milk proteins and clinically proven to be effective in the reduction of blood pressure.

Works With Water beat competition from more than 100 nominated organisations including finalists Roquette, Kluman & Balter and industry giant Cargill to win the award.

Company founder Jules Birch said: "We launched 120/80 earlier this year and we've been thrilled with its phenomenal success.

"With the expertise and scientific knowledge of DKSH we have been able to deliver a range of spring waters that contain ingredients of the very highest quality to ensure that our waters deliver clinically proven benefits for health.

"Winning this award is the cherry to top a fantastic year and we look forward to an even more successful 2008."

Kavan Ranasinghe, from DKSH, said: "To see Jules and the company win this award after all the hard work they have put in is tremendous, and we are proud that we have got to this stage of the journey together.

"Combining Jules's vision with our input, not to mention that fact that the 120/ 80 water is simply a really good product, reminds you why you enjoy your job."

120/80 was launched last year and is available in Tesco, Morrisons and Booths.
