Kinnerton big on Easter breakfast

Novelty breakfast sets - chocolate eggs with gifts designed to make Easter morning a special occasion - are set to be cracking best sellers for Kinnerton Confectionery in 2008 with advance orders worth in excess of £2.5m at retail value.

A new innovation for 2008, the six-piece boxed Breakfast Sets contain a plate, egg cup and mug together with two delicious milk chocolate eggs and feature a toast stamp, which when pressed into bread creates an image that is revealed after toasting. The sets come in four different character designs - Spiderman, The Simpsons, Barbie and Hit Favourites Bob the Builder, Pingu, Fireman Sam and Thomas.

Also set to be best sellers are the new collection of 3D Character Egg Cups - ceramic egg cups in the shape of the heads of Homer, Bart, Spiderman and the Little Princess' crown - as well as the cute matching Egg Cup and Spoon Sets featuring Peter Rabbit, Barbie and Thomas.

TOP MARKS FOR HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL
Kinnerton's flair for identifying and signing popular character confectionery licences has resulted in a runaway smash hit for its High School Musical Easter Egg. Featuring the characters from one of Disney Channel's most regularly shown original movies, together with High School Musical 2, the film is scheduled to be shown on free to air TV in the spring. This, coupled with spectacular DVD sales, has ensured that Kinnerton's High School Musical Egg [boxed with a foiled milk chocolate egg and two character wrapped milk chocolate bars with crispies] has leapt to the top of the class as best seller from the range.

With some of the sector's most powerful character licences, market leader and nut segregated confectionery manufacturer Kinnerton has again created a winning selection of chocolate eggs with the added value element of original novelty gifts.

High School Musical along with other new licences for 2008 - Little Princess and World Wrestling Entertainment - joins a portfolio of established favourite characters that underpin Kinnerton's range. These include The Simpsons, Barbie, Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends, Peter Rabbit and Winnie the Pooh, which feature on a variety of tins, mugs, egg hunt buckets, flowerpots and games.

New lines for 2008 include: Spiderman Blockbuster Game, Bob the Builder 3D Character Mug, WWE Smackdown Game, The Simpsons Baseball Game and Barbie Secret Journal.

With competitive retail prices ranging from 59p [Egglets] to £4.99 [Breakfast Sets and novel games with eggs], the Kinnerton collection offers retailers and consumers a choice of price points aimed at a diverse range of consumers.

WITH HEALTH IN MIND
In addition to producing all their children's chocolate in a dedicated, segregated production area that never comes into contact with nut products, Kinnerton has also removed all GM ingredients and Hydrogenated Fat from these products. Wherever possible Kinnerton ensures that its sugar confectionery is free of artificial additives and colourings.

To address the growing public concern about the environment and diminishing resources, for its 2008 Easter range Kinnerton has introduced packaging made from a minimum 75% recycled board that is 100% recyclable.

Furthermore, it has once again produced a Luxury Dark Chocolate Easter Egg that is Nut free, Dairy free, Gluten free and Egg free, providing those with an allergy or intolerance to these ingredients the opportunity to participate in the UK's annual chocolate feast. In addition, the company now has The Simpsons and Winnie the Pooh character eggs in dark chocolate that are both Dairy free and Nut free offering an element of fun to the consumer whose usual confectionery choice is severely limited.
