Dr. Oetker tempts romantics this Valentine's with its darker, Continental chocolate mousse

Family-owned company Dr. Oetker is promoting its new chocolate mousse range this Valentine's Day in response to chocolate lovers demanding a darker, richer and sophisticated taste.

The Chocolate Mousse category, currently valued at 61.1 million, has always been popular and has achieved a year-on-year growth of 16.5 per cent. This has contributed to the Total Dessert category's annual expansion of 3.4 per cent.

Responding to the increased popularity of indulgent, Continental chocolate, Dr. Oetker is one of the few brands to have introduced a premium chocolate mousse to suit more sophisticated consumer palates.

Dr. Oetker plans to maximise sales of its Chocolate Mousse range, which includes a Velvety Smooth variety as well as Chocolate Mousse with a Hint of Orange and Chocolate Mousse with a Hint of Mint, throughout 2008 via increased in-store promotions in leading retailers.

With its appeal to both male and female consumers and its generous pot size, Dr. Oetker's chocolate mousses are also being positioned as the ideal Valentine's dessert. Its unique positioning bridges the gap between value and super premium products and allows it to be the only brand offering mainstream consumers a luxurious, sophisticated treat, at an affordable price.
