Make summer dining memorable with Baxters Chutney

With summer just around the corner, consumers will be anticipating the warmer days when they can reach for their picnic sets and head outdoors for some al fresco feasts.

However, with consumer tastes becoming more sophisticated, there's a good chance that shoppers this summer will be looking for more than just a traditional burger, cheese and relish.

In light of these changing tastes, Baxters, the world renowned Scottish food group, has recently extended its range of speciality chutneys to keep up with this demand for distinctive accompaniments.

The latest additions to the range are Sweet Cherry Tomato & Piquante Pepper and Granny Smith Apple, Fig & Cider chutney, which can provide the perfect barbecue accompaniment this summer.

The Granny Smith Apple, Fig & Cider Chutney tastes great with barbecued pork chops and consumers love to use the Sweet Cherry Tomato & Piquante Pepper Chutney as a twist on the traditional burger relish. The chutneys' contrasting flavours are ideally suited to succulent meats and liven up traditional summer barbecue staples.

Kerr Arthur, Marketing Director at Baxters, said: "Consumer tastes are becoming ever more sophisticated. People are beginning to look beyond classic flavours and are using the products in different ways, such as for sandwich fillings, dips and barbecue ingredients.

"With this in mind, we decided to extend our range of speciality chutneys to make al fresco dining more memorable."

Other varieties in the speciality chutney range, which have already proven popular with consumers, include Fire-Roasted Pepper Chutney with Capers, Sweet Caramelised Onion Chutney with Orange, Crushed Pineapple & Sweet Pepper Chutney and Spanish Tomato & Black Olive Chutney.

The new varieties retail at 1.85 for a 300g jar and can be found at major retailers nationwide.
