Integrated styling from Verco

If, as many retailers claim, merchandising is the key to maximising profit in the fast moving chilled and frozen food sector, then no company offers a more integrated approach to merchandising than Verco.

Since launching the pioneering 'Integrated Styling' concept across its range of glass door and open chill cabinets, with features such as matching trim, bump bars and corporate colour combinations, the company has extended the approach to include the fundamental engineering of its cabinets and a new range.

The result can transform a run of glass-door and open-chill cabinets into an attractive merchandising display that combines maximum use of valuable floor space, high visibility for the product, and constant temperatures to maintain quality and hygiene - all key requirements whether the retail environment is a corner shop, a convenience store or a supermarket

Open-chill and glass-door cabinets share the same monocoque construction, which makes the open-chill Cambridge and Kingston ranges both lighter and stronger than traditional open cabinets and ensures a more accurate fit across the whole range when multiplexing.

The latest addition to the Verco range is the recently launched 'Inline Merchandiser' cabinet, which is designed to fit within the 1.2m module of an ambient shelving system.

Based on the company's existing Cambridge range, and designed in response to customer feedback, the new Inline Merchandiser offers high efficiency with low running costs and noise output thanks to its use of the latest compact, horizontal rotary compressor. Heat rejection is also considerably reduced due to the refrigeration system's use of heat to re-evaporate the condensate.

To maximise visual merchandising for supermarkets, convenience stores and forecourt shops, the cabinet's compact design has a footprint to align with 600mm base shelf ambient systems. In addition it offers three shelves plus the base for BWS, and five shelves plus base for dairy merchandising and is available initially in a width to suit the 1.2m ambient module, with a 1m format to follow. Bespoke sizes will be considered subject to customer demand.

Verco's Sales and Marketing Director Colin Jones says the Inline Merchandiser sets new standards in space, merchandising and energy efficiency and is designed to integrate completely with a store's existing shelving. It can also be finished in customers' corporate colour schemes to further enhance the integrated look.

"The introduction of the Inline Merchandiser means we now offer a comprehensive retail refrigeration package of open-chill, glass-door and inline refrigerated cabinets that are attractive and energy efficient," says Colin.
